A modern approach
We work attentively with every student to make sure that our programs fit their schedules. Our courses are flexible enough to fit most student or work schedules, ranging from programs only three-days long, or up to a month.
Our current offerings:
All of our courses take place within the Chicagoland area. All courses provide our specialized cadaver lab, which includes the highest quality specimens available, all freshly frozen without the use of formaldehyde. The cadaver work is performed in a real operating room. This allows the students to become more comfortable to the operating room settings.
All of our courses, regardless of experience, also include clinical and operating room experience. If you are interested in our courses, you should be prepared to be seeing and working on patients in the clinic alongside a board certified surgeon, and scrubbing into actual surgical procedures.
Part of our new offerings, is the ability to simply observe cases, without scrubbing in. This provides a more stress-free experience for those who are less experienced, while also being more accessible at a fraction of the cost. The program durations stay the same, with the student observing within the operating room and working on a cadaver to put the skills they learned to the test.
Pricing can vary depending on your education level and experience, so please fill out our consultation forms to receive your personal quote!
Three-day course:
Our three-day course is typically a sampler, designed with any college student, or medical school student or graduate in mind.
A typical three-day course starts with observing surgical cases at first, and then moving to our cadaver lab in a simulated operating room. This is where we will teach you the responsibilities and roles of everybody in the operating room, as well as how to gown and scrub. You will also be able to put any skills you learned during observation, and work on incisions and suturing.
Days two and three will be spent working in the operating room alongside a board certified surgeon, putting your newly learned skills to the test.
Five-day course:
(Our five-day course is the minimum amount of time needed with us to qualify for admission to most medical training programs, assuming you don’t already fit their prerequisites)
A good entry point for those who are serious about moving towards their future medical career. Typically for students who have proven past medical experience, this allows us to place you in the operating room much earlier and obtain many more surgical cases for your logs.
The course includes:
A cadaver lab in an actual operating room, which usually takes place on the first day to learn scrubbing techniques, incisions, instrument handling, suturing techniques, and how to function in the operating room.
Days two through five are spent building and elaborating on those skills on a higher level, and working alongside a board certified surgeon in the operating room. What a great way to start your surgical logs!
Twenty-day course:
(A full month-long in total, considering you will have weekends off)
Our twenty-day course is ideal for creating a large amount of logs with in-depth, advanced surgical procedures to add to your repertoire. Typically reserved for our most serious students, or those who are looking to fulfill requisites for a linked medical program— examples include RASA’s surgical log requirements for over 100 cases, or other medical programs requiring a certain amount of clinical hours.
Includes:
-Our most extensive standard program available, other than custom-made programs made for individual needs.
-Personalized recommendations from our program coordinator and CEO
-The finest educational experience in healthcare across the United States.
For the medical student or medical graduate (foreign or domestic) looking for a unique advantage over your classmates and peers, this is it!
